| National Language Learning MonthSpanish • French • German • Irish • Scottish Gaelic • Welsh • Portugese • Italian • Hungarian • Turkish • Esperanto • Romanian • Czech • Russian • Ukranian • Polish • Swedish • Norweigan • Danish • Dutch • Korean • Chinese • Japanese • Hawaiian • Hindi • Hebrew • Arabic • Vietnamese • Indonesian • Greek • Swahili • LatinThe majority of TE's population consists of writers who have participated in the infamous NaNoWriMo. The majority of that majority are also aspiring to learn another language. Recently, Vinder and I were discussing DuoLingo when we thought of an idea - we should set aside a month to set a goal and learn as much as we can of the language we're learning. NaLaLeMo, inspired by NaNoWriMo and centered around DuoLingo, will take place during the month of May. If you're interested in participating, read the steps on entering below: 1. Make an account on DuoLingo. If you already have an account, that's great! 2. Choose one language from the above list to study during NaLaLeMo. You can begin learning a new language, or continue learning the language you have been. 3. Set a goal. The goal can either be to reach a certain level, a certain checkpoint, or to obtain a certain amount of XP at the end of the month. (Levels are pretty self-explanatory, you start out on Level 1 and progress as you gain XP. XP is a number that accumulates as you complete the lessons and skills.) 4. Post the form below. 5. Set up your DuoLingo account. 6. Follow the accounts of your fellow NaLaLeMo participaters, and in return everyone will follow you. (Kind of mocking the Camp NaNoWriMo cabin.) Form - Code:

If you have questions, post them here (or discord). Good luck!

| Name: Aliria Link to DuoLingo Account: https://www.duolingo.com/JinixaLanguage you're learning: Norwegian Goal: 1000 XP I'm setting my goal to something not huge for me, as I'll be pretty busy in June and I know there's gonna be at least one week where I can't go online at all. Also, a few rules I'm setting for myself so I keep doing a decent amount and don't try to learn too much too fast: 1) Must earn a minimum of 40 XP per day 2) No more than 2 subjects may be learned every 2 days. This means I can do one subject a day, or alternate between a day of two subjects and a day or practice 3) At least one day a week must be all practice, no new subjects 4) A subject with six or more lessons in it counts as two subjects.

| Name: kaNO Link to DuoLingo Account: linkyLanguage you're learning: Dutch with Spanner~ Goal: Honestly, June will be hella, so I'll set the bar low at 20 EXP! Edit: I won't be starting this challenge until after I graduate, so like maybe June 3rd or 4th, depends on how many parties I'm obligated to attend (and when I decide to live again, haha). And I probably won't do anything regarding duolingo in the days immediately leading up to and following June 18. So this challenge may be a huge flop for me, but... Story-time: The current username I have was not my original. My original was actually my full name which I tried to change so I wouldn't have a full name reveal, but then I couldn't find an available username so I settled on this one... Then I realized that I already had my name set on Duolingo so it didn't even matter that I tried to hide my name. So I gave up and here I am revealing my name to the dangerous Tsar.

| Plot twist: I already knew your full name XD I found your YouTube account a while back and your username there was your full name. In fact, yesterday I did try to look you up on FB but I couldn't find a Naomi Cruz from California who seemed like it would be you, so I gave up.
Also, I just now figured out what NoCal and SoCal mean...I really am dense...

You don't have to give hints. And Tsar, don't worry... It took me until a few days ago to figure out the whole north-south thing... which is what I hope it stands for... -_- There are 99 kano's known in the u.s., not counting not known... About half probably have a facebook account... not easy. )

| Name: Kaiser Link to DuoLingo Account: https://www.duolingo.com/Kaiser-DakotaLanguage you're learning: German Goal: Er.. . . Level 5 When I was registering it asked me if I wanted to take a test to see how much German I already knew, and I took it, and then it told me I didn't test out of any skills... Nonsense... I would've passed but the multiple type-what-you-hear's set me up for failure... a computer cannot properly speak German! It shouldn't utterly butcher the language in its cracked robotic voice and expect me to understand what it's trying to say! | |

| Welp, okay then. At least you haven't found my facebook yet, which is surprisingly more active than all of the ones I've found of you guys. But if you do find it, eh. Whatever. At this point, what don't you know about me Tsar? Onto that NoCal/SoCal thing... It's hard to explain. Yes, it literally means Northern California and Southern California, but Californians are extra and north and south have different meanings here. You would expect the state to be just cut in half NoCal/SoCal, but nope. It's complicated. Here's how I divide up California in a most beautifully and quickly edited image that is totally easy to read. In all honesty, NoCal and SoCal are very small parts of my state. Most of the state is the valley (Central and Sacramento) the desert (Inyo) and High(?) California. Honestly, I have no clue what the Northernmost part of California is called. I've always called it Weed land or basically Oregon. | |

| For some reason, my brain always interpret things very literally (which is why I'm no good at riddles -_-), so whenever I read "NoCal" and "SoCal" I thought No California and Very California... Behold my beautiful map of NC. | |
